Amazon Inc is set to take on it’s arch rival Netflix by providing the cheapest Subscription Video-on-Demand in India with Amazon Prime Video subscriptions offering introductory price of $7.50 compared to USA and UK subscription plans available for $8.99 a month.
Amazon is also set to bring in more local content for Indian viewers forging a content deal with South Indian Production company for its highest grossing films. Amazon is yet to announce the launch date of Amazon Prime Video services in India and it still remains uncertain how greatly it might impact Netflix India and other Video Streaming services in the country.
