A Content Delivery Network (CDN) is a collection of global servers (network) that catches and delivers live streaming media, downloadable objects, web objects, on-demand streaming media and applications to a user based on his/her geographic locations, regardless of the origin of the content and a content delivery server. CDN minimizes the content accessing time as it distributes the same content in different nodes or servers around the globe. So, users can access the content from their nearest server instead of accessing it from the origin server.
CDN is an indispensable prerequisite for your video streaming platform, as it will deliver the content instantly to your users without compromising the streaming speed.
Muvi Has Built-In CDN
At Muvi, we use Amazon CloudFront. We store video files in AWS (Amazon Web Service) S3 Bucket and stream the videos through AWS CDN. To ensure fastest delivery of your platform to your users, we have implemented a number of performance optimizations. CloudFront helps us lowering the buffer rate of videos and increasing the performance of your platform. Through CloudFront we can detect the region where your users are trying to access your content from and deliver it with the help of AWS CDN from a server or node nearest to the user. Our single management console allows you to manage all the chores seamlessly, and for this you don’t need any technical knowledge.
Integrate Your CDN with Muvi
Muvi also allows you to integrate your own CDN to its platform. By integrating your choice of CDN, you can seamlessly deliver your content to your users across the globe.
Your own CDN can be from the likes of Limelight, StackPath, CacheFly to Akamai or else be even a local area network or operator driven network. We can integrate with any of these and deliver the content to your users without any technical glitch.
Note: To integrate your CDN to Muvi’s platform, please add a support ticket.
