Introduction

After creating your website, the next most important thing is to add content to your website. Before adding content to your website you must understand about different content metadata types that Muvi supports to add.

Content Metadata Types

Content Metadata means various properties (information) of a content such as title, description, story, actor, poster, trailer etc. These metadata will help your videos search friendly and easily discoverable on your video platform as well as on major search engine like Google. Hence, it is important to understand the content metadata types, so that you will be able to know what kind of information you need to provide for a particular video content. Muvi supports 3 pre-defined metadata types.

  1. Single Part Long Form
  2. Single Part Short Form
  3. Multi-part

Single Part Long Form

Typically, Single Part Long Form videos have a linear content arc with a beginning, middle and end. For example, movies, sporting events, live streams, linear TV shows etc. The video content, those are more than 20 minutes long can be considered as Long Form Videos. These types of content have a lot of metadata such as description, genre, language, rating, actor, trailer etc.

Single Part Short Form

Single Part Short Form video content provides bite-sized information proposed to be consumed quickly. For instance, YouTube video clips, music videos etc. Basically, these video content are not more than 5 minutes long. These types of content have very few meta data, maybe just title and description.

Multi-part

A Multi Part content has a parent content and one or more child contents known as episodes. For example, TV Show. The parent content is the TV Show and the number of episodes (Episode 1, Episode 2, Episode 3 etc.) of that show is known as child content. These type of content have different metadata for parent content and child content. For parent content you can add metadata like Content Name, Release or Recorded date, Genre, Censor Ratings etc. and for child content you can add metadata like, Season Number, Episode Number, Episode Date etc.
