US-based entertainment company has is all set to acquire global OTT service Viewster and its subsidiary Viewster Anime.
The fandom of the newly added channels will soon be combined with Cinedigm’s library of channels and content. Cinedign will soon be taking over operation of all content, social assets, applications of both the platforms. The acquisition will be done sometime in January 2019.
Erick Opeka, President of Cinedigm Networks, quoted, “Viewster and Viewster Anime are the perfect complement to the Cinedigm brand and will be integral in further cementing our impact in the fandom arena.” Citing the trend in OTT marketplace, Mr. Opeka continued, “In the OTT marketplace, there is an incredibly strong desire for the type of content that they specialize in, and this presents a great opportunity for future growth, especially in the quickly expanding ad-supported realm, where we are focusing much of our growth efforts.”
