Instagram developing new two-person live stream video feature

Apps like Facebook and YouTube included live streaming, then came Meerkat, Periscope and now Instagram is looking at leaping ahead by testing two-person live broadcasting for select users with an all new split-screen layout.

The new group live stream feature is all set to appear for some users before the feature launches to everyone.

The feature is going to be rolled out as a trial to a random set of people today and will test for the next few months before officially being rolled out.

It’s live video broadcasting video will be limited to two simultaneous users but hosts are able to change guests without interrupting a broadcast. There is a limit in the broadcast duration which is currently set at 60 minutes.

Users can share live streams to Instagram Stories after the broadcast for followers to be able to replay and rewatch within 24 hours.

Look for new faces icon on the bottom right of the Live camera in Instagram and pick the contact that you would like to broadcast with and select add to send an invitation to the picked contact to join the live stream.
