AVC (H.264)

AVC or Advanced Video Coding (also known as H.264) is an industry-standard for video compression, the process of converting digital video into a format that takes up less capacity when it is transmitted or stored. AVC or H.264 delivers both small file size and high definition quality with half, even quarter of bitrate usage. So far, it is one of the most frequently used formats for recording, compression as well as the distribution of video content. Including 4K UHD, it also supports resolutions up to 4096×2304.

In the context of live video streaming, AVC plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth and efficient transmission of high-quality content. By minimizing bandwidth consumption while maintaining excellent visual fidelity, this codec is essential for platforms that deliver real-time video to audiences around the globe. However, the benefits of AVC extend beyond video. It is also widely used in live audio streaming service to ensure high-fidelity audio delivery, whether it’s music, podcasts, or live events. By combining efficient video and audio codecs, platforms can provide a comprehensive and immersive experience for their users.
