FTP (File Transfer Protocol)

FTP or File Transfer Protocol is used to transfer files between two computers over a network and Internet. FTP uses a client-server architecture. It is often secured with SSL/TLS. FTP works in the same way as HTTP for transferring Web pages from a server to a user’s browser. By using FTP, a client can download, upload, rename, delete, copy and move files on a server. Typically, a user needs to log on to the FTP server for any kind of file transfer. However, some servers make all or some of their content available without login, also known as anonymous FTP.

Also, FTP is a reliable method for managing files online, often used in digital media and web content management. With the increasing demand for live streaming services, FTP also plays a critical role in managing large video files that need to be transferred efficiently across servers. This is particularly useful for content creators and broadcasters who rely on live streaming platform to reach a global audience. By enabling quick and secure file transfers, FTP ensures that high-quality media files are uploaded or downloaded seamlessly, which is essential for maintaining smooth, uninterrupted live streams.
