Metadata is data that provides basic information about other data. It makes tracking and working with specific data easier. For example, a video may include metadata which describes the name of the video, duration of the video, record/release date of the video, genre of the video, category of the video and more. Likewise, there are different metadata for audio and physical goods.
With having the aptitude to filter through, metadata makes it much easier to find a specific content. There are 3 different types of metadata exist including, administrative metadata, structural metadata and descriptive metadata.
The advent of live audio streaming service has further highlighted the importance of metadata. These platforms, which allow users to listen to real-time audio broadcasts, rely heavily on metadata to categorize and present content effectively. By accurately tagging and indexing live streams, these services can help listeners discover new music, podcasts, and other audio content that aligns with their interests.
