With the rapid growth in OTT services, the global SVoD subscriptions are expected to increase by 439 million between 2019 and 2024. The total number of SVoD subscriptions will reach 1 Billion by the end of 2024, which is approximately a growth of 86%. In 2019 alone, the gross will climb by 119 million worldwide.
As the total SVoD subscriptions are racing towards 1 billion mark, the net subscriber count will also increase by 175 million and will reach a total of 531 million subscribers by 2024. Netflix is supposed to hold a majority of the global SVoD subscriptions i.e. 21% (203 million subscribers) while Amazon Prime will contribute 13% (125 million).
