Do you remember those paper-based billboards on streets and corners? About a decade ago, that was the OOH (out-of-home) advertising norm. Digital OOH Advertising and Digital Signage have replaced traditional OOH advertising completely nowadays. And multiple studies have shown that they are quite effective. In-store digital signages influence the buying decisions of 68% of customers. While overall brand awareness and popularity can increase by 48% using OOH digital signage.

If you are looking to implement OOH digital signage and DOOH advertising for your business, then we will tell you how to do so in this article. But before that, let’s take a deeper look at DOOH advertising and digital signage, and why you need them in the first place!

What is Digital OOH (DOOH) Advertising?

In simple words, OOH Advertising becomes Digital when you replace those printed papers and iron billboards with large-sized digital screens and digital content. So, you display your ads, in the form of video or digital content, over large television screens.

These screens can be placed anywhere, across the streets and over the corners, in airports, shopping malls, hospitals, and more! You can even add audio-visual ads, delivering your brand message more clearly.

Traditional vs Digital OOH Signage: What’s the Difference?

Apart from the basic point of difference, there are a few other functional differences between Traditional and Digital OOH Signage. We have tried to tabulate all those differences below.

Traditional OOH Signage vs Digital OOH Signage

Traditional OOH Signage

Digital OOH Signage

They use physical billboards and paper-based posters.

They use digital screens and visual content.

You will see only one static image, printed over paper, over an entire billboard.

Multiple ads can be displayed over a single screen, in the form of a playlist.

You or your workforce need to physically go and change the printed ads displayed over the billboards.

You can easily manage, edit, and update ads displayed digitally, using a video management system like Muvi Flex, sitting comfortably on your office chair.

It can bring limited brand awareness and engagement, as it is a static image and only a single message is displayed.

It has the potential to bring more customer engagement and brand awareness, as it grabs the eyeballs.

From the points listed above, it is quite clear that DOOH Ads and Digital Signages are much easier to manage, and are more impactful than traditional OOH. Hence, you should definitely try them out to better promote your brand and expand your business.

We will now tell you how you can convert any screen into DOOH Ads and Digital Signages using Muvi Flex.
