How To Get Started With Muvi Playout?

Now that you know what all you can do with Muvi Playout, it’s time to get started! Follow the steps given below. 

Step 1 – Sign Up and Login

You will first have to sign up with Muvi Playout. Click on this link to sign up and start your FREE trial for 14 days. You won’t have to fill your credit card details to start the FREE trial 😀

Once the signup process is complete, log in to your Muvi Playout Dashboard. 

Step 2 – Add Content to Playout

Now, you need to add content to Playout first. To do so, follow these steps:

1. Click on “Manage Content”.
2. Go to “Content Library”.
3. Click on “Add Content”.
4. The content form will appear. So, start filling it. You will first have to select the “Content Type” from the drop down. Choose any one of the audio and video, depending on the content you are uploading. 
5. Fill in the Name and Description for your content. 
6. Fill search tags, each tag separated by a comma. These tags can then be used to search your content. 
7. Now you need to upload your main video under “Primary Media”. 
8. You can also add a “Poster” for your video. 
9. Once you are done, click on “Save”. 
10. As soon as you click save, the automatic encoding for your uploaded video will start. 

You can review, edit, or even delete your video or audio content any time later. 

Step 3 – Add A Channel

Now it’s time to add a channel. Follow the steps given below to do so. 

1. Go to “Manage Channel”.
2. Click on “Add Channel”.
3. The channel form will open. Start filling it. First select the “Channel Type” from the drop down, here you need to choose between audio and video.
4. Add other details like “Channel Name” and “Description”.
5. Click on “Channel Logo” to add a logo for your channel. 
6. Click on the “Channel Image” to add a channel image for your channel. 
7. You can even add Filler media to your channel. This filler media will be played when there is no program scheduled for your channel, including the “Gaps”. To do so, go to the “Media” tab in the form and click on “Add File”. 
8. Click on “Save Channel”. 

Step 4 – Schedule Channel Content

Once both channel and content are added, you can now schedule your channel content using our drag-and-drop scheduler. Follow the steps given below to do so:

1. Click on “Manage Scheduler” which will appear on the right side of any channel.
2. Select a Time Zone based on your target audience. 
3. Now go to the scheduler and select the date and time by clicking on “Calendar”. 
4. You will see the content that you had added to your “Content Library” on your right-hand side. Drag and drop the content to the scheduled time slot on the scheduler. 
5. You can even add a “gap” between two content. To do so, click on the 3 dots on the right-hand side of the content to select the time gap, and then click on “Add Gap Above” or “Add Gap Below” as per your requirement. 
6. If you want to schedule repeating content, you can select “Repeat”. The content can be scheduled to repeat on a Daily, Weekly, or Monthly basis.

Step 5 – Preview Channel

Your channel is now ready to be previewed. To preview. Follow the steps given below:

1. Click on “Manage Channel”.
2. Click on the 3 dots on the right-hand side of a channel.
3. You will get the “Preview” option there. Click on it.

Step 6 – Generate HLS Output and Embed Channel to Website

Now your channel is ready to be embedded into your website. To embed the channel to any website, follow the steps given below:

1. First of all, you need to generate the HLS output for your channel, in order to get the “Embed Link”. So, go to “Manage Channel” to generate the HLS URL.
2. On the right-hand side of the channel, click on the 3 dots (more). You will get an option to  “Generate HLS”. Click on it. 
3. Now wait for a few minutes, till the HLS URL is generated.
4. Now again click on the 3 dots on the side of the channel, and click on “Embed Channel”.
5. An embed link will be generated. Click on “Copy” to copy the embed link and add it to your website.
