AMC network top brass has reaffirmed its stand on the company policy of making original programming available to OTT VOD services only a year after the linear broadcast.
This announcement comes at a time when SVOD services like Netflix and Hulu are facing severe criticism for bringing down television ratings and has led to some hasty, frenzied decisions from many media companies trying to block them. Despite generating big revenue numbers for programmers, these services have fueled cord cutting and ad-free models hurting TV networks.
As of now, AMC takes a year to make its popular shows like Mad Men and Breaking Bad available to subscription VOD services like Netflix and Hulu.
