Apple TV to include Amazon Prime Video app

Amazon’s streaming service may be available on Apple TV this summer. Currently users access Prime Video on Apple TV through AirPlay on another iOS device that has the app installed like an iPhone or iPad.

Amazon and Apple have a history of competing interests in the media player and streaming services market given the fact that Amazon actually removed Apple TV from its online store in 2015 since it didn’t provide Prime Video support. The buzz is that a Prime video app would be on Apple TV in the third quarter of the year. Such a move could make Amazon relist Apple TV for purchase on its website.
