When Apple’s annual conference, the WWDC or Worldwide Developer’s Conference, starts today in San Francisco, the mood will be both excited and somewhat muted.

Apple had said it would unveil its next version Apple TV media streaming device at the event. The Apple TV 2015 was expected to include some desired enhancements, including a new touchpad design for the remote. There was also talk it would come with Apple’s new Internet TV platform built in.

But last week Apple announced that there would be no new Apple TV unveiled at this year’s WWDC. The plans for launch are reported to be postponed until 2016, but it’s really anyone’s guess when the world will see the next version device.
