According to a comprehensive study carried out by Telefónica Foundation – Millennials en Latinoamérica, una perspectiva desde Ecuador, some 70% of LATAM millennials own a smartphone and prefer to use social media video channels frequently.
The study also points out that these millennials are moving towards consuming VOD services like Netflix and HBO Go and abandoning traditional, linear TV at a much faster rate. “Millennials are closer to their smartphones than to their remotes and are very impatient when it comes to heavy advertising,” concluded the analysis.
