According to a Juniper Research study, Virtual Reality may be making small steps but it is expected to take a hike in the coming five years. The research states that given the recent launches by many giants in the internet space, the VR hardware revenues are expected to touch $50 billion by 2021, which is a ten fold of $5 billion of VR hardware sales in 2016.
The research states that VR is taking up as an adoption among smartphone users and the high unit prices imposed by the headsets for PCs and consoles. There are various big VR launches lined up in the coming months this year including the PlayStation VR, Microsoft’s Project Scorpio and the recent Daydream VR by Google.
