CathayPlay was built with the motive to provide a platform for independent Chinese filmmakers so that they can showcase their work to the world. When it comes to independent filmmaking in the Chinese language, there are very few platforms to showcase such works. CathayPlay is here to change that scenario. It provides a global platform where independent Chinese filmmakers can upload their films, and exhibit their work to the global audience. 

For this purpose, CathayPlay approached Muvi to develop a video streaming platform like Netflix. They wanted to develop a platform where these movies could be uploaded, along with relevant metadata like cast name, storyline, awards, etc. The viewers would be able to stream their favorite content, subscribe to the platform, and buy stuff related to the movies. 

Using Muvi One, the customers were able to create an end-to-end video streaming platform that now hosts hundreds of independent Chinese films. Using Muvi Kart, they could also add an e-commerce section to the platform where they are selling DVDs, books, and magazines. The movies are divided into multiple categories like Fiction, Non-Fiction, Animation, and more!

• Muvi Kart- Muvi Kart lets our customers create their own online store to sell physical goods! The Muvi Kart comes with multi-currency support and a multi-lingual storefront. The customers get built-in inventory management tools along with the freedom to customize shipping rules and restrictions. CathayPlay used this feature to sell products related to their movies. 

• Content Management System- The robust CMS of Muvi One lets our customers manage every aspect related to either content effortlessly. They could add content, add metadata and banner, and monetize their content from a single platform.
