In a recent interview with CNBC reporter Julia Boorstin at The Paley Center For Media’s 2017 International Council Summit in New York, James Murdoch – CEO, 21st Century Fox said the company is betting bricks on over-the-top streaming. Citing the case of Hulu’s live OTT TV service, he reveals his plans to roll out bundled offerings.
Fox, along with Disney, NBCUniversal, and Time Warner, is one of Hulu’s corporate owners; and Murdoch expressed his encouragement and best wishes for Hulu’s and other similar services’ success. Murdoch indicated that Fox does not intend to go direct-to-consumer, thereby differentiating them from their competitor CBS. He stated, “Fox is transforming itself from a traditional television company, to one that put its digital priorities first. We’re all digital.”
