Amazon’s YouTube rival service offers users a cut of ad revenues

Roshan Dwivedi Published on : 11 May 2016

Amazon Video Direct service is launching soon and it is going to let users share any video streaming content and earn a cut from it. Earning money can be from various ways – royalties from Prime members, revenue sharing through rentals, purchases, subscriptions, and ad impressions. Amazon is planning to offer a share from $1,000,000 per month as bonus incentives to the top 100 titles on Amazon Video Direct. It will be available on mobile and TV apps, as well as streaming sticks.

Amazon has partnered with How Stuff Works, Mattel, The Guardian, and independent titles from Samuel Goldwyn Films for content. Amazon Video is still only available in the US, Germany, Austria, UK, and Japan.
