Tech giant Apple has been planning to introduce a global music publishing division within its audio streaming platform Apple Music paving way for publishing music without the need for third parties, assuming artists and others are willing to go along.
According to sources, the Music Publishing Team is expected to have several sub-divisions such as Operations, Commercial, Publisher Relations, and A&R.
The development although another feather on Apple’s hat, is nothing new since it is not the first time that Apple is using exclusives to entice potential subscribers. After this, It would be interesting to see the live music streaming giant’s arch-rival Spotify’s move which has outsmarted Apple Music until now with 75 million paid subscribers and more ad-based listeners in comparison to the other under its belt.
