According to CBS, its subscriber growth has gone up by a record 200% in the last couple of weeks. The growth is being attributed to the inclusion of original content such as “Star Trek: Discovery”.
CBS has for long been looking to leverage the power of original content so as to drive subscriber growth for its streaming platforms “All Access” and “Showtime OTT”. It is expected to surpass a combined 4 million subscribers for both the streaming services by the end of the year.
All Access also aims to expand to other countries starting with Canada and then Australia.
