Professional sports league NBA Digital and NextVR are all ready to live-stream NBA League Pass games delivered to their viewers in Virtual reality. Companies are set to broadcast the games in VR, at least once every week during the 2016-17 basketball season, with dedicated announcers, multiple unmanned camera angles and optimized graphics.

The game breaks will also be filled with behind-the-scenes footage from arena, in-venue entertainment and VR-specific commentary. Those with Samsung Gear VR headsets and compatible Samsung smartphones can experience the free preview to be hosted on 27 October by accessing the NBA Channel via the NextVR app. Later in the season, the offering will further be expanded to support additional VR headsets.
