Roku, one of the leading names in OTT VOD service industry is all set to upgrade and refresh its entire line of devices. The company is renaming its brand device names. The base model Roku 1 will be replaced by Roku Express and Express Plus and Roku 2 and Roku 3 will be replaced by the Premiere and Premiere Plus models respectively. The Roku 4 will be replaced by the Roku Ultra.
The premier and Plus models both are expected to include 4K capabilities, with Plus Roku model also having HDR capabilities. The Roku Ultra is will be added with a remote control finder and optical out. The launches are expected to be out during the holiday shopping season.
