Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is all set to expand its Ultra-branded 4K VOD service to connected PCs taking it beyond TV, starting early 2017. Sony is also planning to add an option to rent movies for up to 48 hours. The service will only support movie purchases for now, and has titles such as “Concussion”, “The Night Before”, “The Walk” “Crouching Tiger” and “Hidden Dragon.”
The service comes at the cost of $29.99 for new 4K HDR titles, along with library titles selling at $25.99. The service for now is limited only to 2016 Sony TV sets with 4K video support and will require PCs with a new 7th Gen Intel Core processor.
