Rise in US streaming services surged subscriber count up to 340 million

As per reports, the number of OTT subscriptions in the US have now surpassed the total population of the country.The US viewers subscribe to almost five or more OTT players and have switched their entertainment channel from pay-TV to video streaming services. A study stated that 57% of internet users prefer VOD services to watch TV or movies which is one of the reasons for the rise in US binge watch.

Toby Holleran, Research Manager at Ampere Analysis stated “As consumers shift away from pay-TV and more streaming services enter the market, service stacking continues to grow as consumers curate their own content portfolios, leading the overall number of subscriptions to overtake the number of people in Q1 2021.’
