Music streaming has become hugely popular in the U.S primarily due to convenience. Americans streamed 284.7 billion on-demand music streams (including video) in the first 6 months of 2017 as per Nielsen data.

Assuming that 1,500 streams is the equivalent of 1 album then streaming sells far more “albums” than traditional music sales channels.
Streaming makes up for more than 60% of music consumption as per Statista. Streaming services are super appealing for consumers and the music industry can actually extract more revenue out of streaming subscribers than traditional album buyers since streaming services are leading people to engage with music more frequently. Read More
