Cord cutting is trouble for PayTV operators. AT&T, to counter this, has announced a new satellite video streaming service named DirecTV. This wouldn’t require an additional hardware setup, a connected device like a smartphone, computer or media streaming box is compatible. Considering 60% of their mobile data is video streaming, AT&T’s new move is a more affordable flexible option for people opting to watch TV on phones as well as large screen connected TVs. Industry analysts believe this is a good move for expensive PayTV plans that are going to look attractive with video streaming add-on services (free and premium) like this.
