In a recent interview with CNBC, The chief content officer at Netflix said that Netflix, world’s most popular OTT platform is “now looking at” the content download option in some developing countries, so that it becomes easier for viewers to access content at their convenience. However, there is no confirmation whether this feature is rolling out any sooner.

Netflix stated that they’ve recently launched in 130 new countries including Africa and the Middle East where broadband speeds are variable and the download culture is quite common. Netflix’s biggest rival Amazon already offers this facility along with YouTube Red in the US.
