Iflix, the subscription-video-on-demand (SVOD) service is all set to expand its geographical reach from South East Asia to Sri Lanka in this month. Iflix claims to have four million subscribers in the current markets of Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia. They offer offline video viewing and downloads without incurring mobile data costs as part of subscription.

Noticing high rate of growth in Sri Lankan smartphone adoption, iflix plans to offer local as well as international content with unlimited access on up to five digital devices. Iflix also attracted a US$45 million investment from Sky – the European payTV giant in March 2016.
