AT&T’s DirecTV Now app, now being updated to support 5.1 audio on some channels, including MTV. The app is being reviewed by beta testers currently and the official release is expected before the end of the year.
Many consumers have been asking for 5.1 audio on a live TV streaming service, and with this launch, DirecTV Now will be the first one to answer this request. This is a big step for the company’s streaming business as it gives DirecTV Now a feature that no other live TV streaming service currently offers.
