Internet access grows in Netherlands through smart TVs, use of video streaming devices also up

Almost a third (32%) of Dutch with access to internet via a television screen in the fourth quarter used a smart TV, according to research from Telecompaper’s Consumer Panel for Q4 2014. Trailing at a distance, 11 percent accessed the internet using a connected console (Xbox, PlayStation and/or Wii). Another 10 percent used a laptop or PC connected to a TV screen, while 4 percent used a media player. Less than half (45%) of Dutch people had no access to the internet via a TV screen, down from 62 percent the year before. Due to the above stats, it’s clear that the use of video streaming sites and devices has also gone up.
