Low bandwidth streaming technology to be introduced by Netflix for developing countries

Netflix is all set to improve video delivery in India by introducing a new technology that will work with slow internet connections without compromising on the quality.

This new technology will let consumers stream massive amounts of video content (upto 30GB) while still being able to be under the 2GB data limit.

The way Netflix plans to provide its subscribers highest quality viewing experience is by partnering with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and providing them with free open connect servers in hundreds as well, if required as it works in Netflix’s benefit.

This low bandwidth technology upon successful implementation in India could also be introduced in other emerging markets such as Latin America, sections of Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East. Read More
