In a recent research by Conecta, 80% of Brazilian Internet users download content, both legal and pirate. The report also states that desktops and laptops are the preferred devices for 70% of these downloads. Smartphones are used by 20%, tablets by 7% and TV downloads are as low as 3%.
Brazil leads Latin America in cord cutting, having an estimated rate of 16% of Over-the-top (OTT) subscribers that never paid for TV. One more report published in July showed that more than 11% of Brazil’s Netflix subscribers cancelled their Pay TV subscriptions.
