Roku hit 53.6 million active accounts in its first quarter, recording a 35% growth. Top financial forecasts expected Roku’s revenue to hit $490.6 million in Q1 2021, but Roku outgrew this figure with its revenue hitting 79% higher to $574.2 million, a major growth compared to Q1 2020.
Also, streaming hours witnessed a 49% increase year over year in watch time, recording 18.3 billion hours. This massive growth of Roku is a clear indication that OTT is here to stay and is being considered as the next entertainment platform to binge-watch.
