According to research from Leichtman Research Group, the percentage of TV households that subscribe to some form of pay-TV service has dropped to below 80% for the first time since early 2000s.

79% of US TV households undertake pay-TV with 92% of TV households that have a pay-TV service and/or an over-the-air antenna.
Pay-TV percentage was 94% in 2015. Monthly spending on pay-TV service amongst subscribers is about $106 which is a growth of 3% over the past year.
