In a surprising move, the US House of Representatives has decided to leverage latest streaming tech to initiate a video on demand and live streaming service that will produce streams of all House committee and sub-committee sessions. It is being touted as a new means to make the system further transparent for US citizens.
For those who are not aware, the US House of Representatives is one of US Congress’s two wings in-charge for making and passing federal laws. It has twenty committees under itself that take on bills and issues relevant to their jurisdiction.
According to Todd Redlin, senior engineer, broadcast specialist for the U.S. House of Representatives. they will now be able to reliably offer Americans uninterrupted viewing of proceedings with the high quality they expect.
