According to sources, YouTube has plans to introduce a paid music service in March 2018. Seemingly, Warner Music Group, one of the biggest major record labels globally, has already signed a deal with YouTube, and Alphabet Inc. is also in talks with Sony Music Entertainment and Universal Music Group. The company is aiming big to catch up with big guns in the online music streaming business such as Spotify and Apple Inc.

The new service, rumoured to be named as Remix, would include on-demand streaming and will have elements from YouTube, such as video clips. YouTube has apparently reached out to artists to seek their help in promoting the new service.
