New Media Innovations in 2021 28 January 2021

New Media Innovations in 2021

2020 proved to be a year of innovation as the pandemic became a catalyst for accelerating many of the changes that were already underway. The year was witness to many unique trends and as we head into 2021, it appears that companies are going to work on those innovations and technologies. Let’s take a look at what new media innovations 2021 has in store.

Supporting More Remote Workflows

The pandemic forced everyone to think in a different way and acted as a catalyst to a quick and successful transition to a remote workforce. 2021 will  carry on this trend of refining, and enhancing IP and file-based workflows.

More Cloud Adoption and Innovations

Exciting innovations have taken place in the cloud in 2020 as media companies continue to re-group on their cloud strategies. There are ample real-world examples to support this theory. Muvi saw a massive spike in cloud migration and many of our customers opted for a multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud environment for their online video platforms.

Surge in Live Streaming

Live streaming kicked off in 2020 due to the pandemic as business began to go virtual. Due to its more personal and public-facing approach, it received a huge boost.  Businesses preferred a white-label live streaming solution to connect with their audience and stakeholders, with live shopping being one of the most popular trends set to soar in 2021.

Globalization of Streaming Content

The pandemic has accelerated video streaming to  a huge degree as people from their homes under lockdown are consuming content more than ever. This surge in streaming has led to a spike in the demand for localization services as more content is delivered to a global audience. The globalization of content will continue in 2021 and beyond.

Wrapping Up

Organizations worldwide proved incredibly flexible while adapting to a new situation. The future looks so much different than it did before as far as strategies like remote production, AI, and OTT streaming is concerned.
