42% unwilling to spend more than $20 per month on streaming services

While everyone is raving the online streaming services and growing demand of the same, the other side of the spectrum, however, has a different picture altogether. If reports are to be believed, 42% of adults in the U.S. are unwilling to spend more than $20 per month on streaming services. A data which certainly slows the music for the streaming giants.

The report also claims that 40% of Americans won’t be streaming any live content in 2018; however, 13% would do if latency wasn’t an issue.

Also, noting the popularity of live broadcasts, the report says 49 percent of those surveyed want to view content as it happens, and 7 percent fear to have their shows ruined by next-day spoilers.

Stefan Birrer, Co-founder and CEO of Phenix, quoted, “With 40 percent of people not planning to live stream this year, in large part because of latency problems, content providers would be wise to review their technology to understand what needs to be done to power a proper real-time user experience that virtually eliminates latency and is therefore able to provide the interactive viewing experience consumers are seeking.”
