Apple’s iTunes losing out to Comcast, Amazon and other such services

According to the Wall Street Journal that cited data from various source, over the last five years, Apple’s iTunes store sales for movie and TV show rentals has steadily declined and the U.S market share has fallen from over 50% in 2012 to somewhere between 20%-30% today.

Amazon’s market share from video transactional services has grown to around 20%. Comcast’s movie sales and rentals that are it’s robust feature represent 15% of the market.

Transactional revenue linked to video purchases rose by 12% to $15.3 billion for Apple, according to PricewaterhouseCoopers data. Read More
