US telco and IPTV provider AT&T has revealed that they are planning to have five OTT products by the end of 2018.

The proposed online video streaming platforms will comprise a range of content across multiple genres with different price points. From the linear replication, planned for the DirecTV offering to sports-free AT&T Watch for mobile, it will be free for AT&T wireless customers and $15 for everyone else.

John Donovan, The CEO, AT&T Communications, quoted, “As a broadband-delivered product, the CPE and maintenance costs will be much lower. We anticipate passing along a lot of those cost savings. It will not only have a lower price point, but will have margins that are similar and therefore better returns because there will be fewer upfront costs.”
