Canada has the largest share of ultra binge-watchers on Netflix anywhere in the world. They complete full seasons of TV shows within 24 hours of their release. Other countries in the race are US, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Germany, Mexico, Australia, Sweden, Brazil. Netflix calls these countries, “binge-racers.”

Since 2012, 8.4 million Netflix members have watched at least one season of a series within 24 hours of its premiere. And until now, the number of “launch-day finishers” has grown 20-fold.

Binge-watching is now an official term in the Merriam-Webster’s dictionary, thanks to Netflix for facilitating and encouraging such a viral trend.
