With an aim to connect with India’s billion viewers, Google announced the launched of its new offline YouTube service -“YouTube Go” for slow internet connectivity in India. YouTube Go offers a range of features for users with slow internet connection to view, save and share videos. App’s social feature uses Wi-Fi Direct to share P2P files.
YouTube Go will be launched in India for Android users later this year. The company claims they’ve spend a lot of time in India’s rural areas to understand the challenges of slow internet. “You can’t solve these challenges by sitting in Silicon Valley.” Johanna Wright, Vice President of Product Management, YouTube said.
