Booming Spanish SVOD faces lack of pay-TV culture 14 December 2016

With many SVOD services entering the highly adaptive Spanish TV market, faces the lack of interest in pay-TV. Spain has become the primary testing market for many OTT platforms, with Netflix launching an year ago, HBO following the same recently and Amazon setting up its grounds.

With its high piracy rates and low pay-TV penetration, Spain was considered a dangerous place for SVOD services; however, the top tree giants will be seen competing against each other in the first quarter of 2017 in this market.
