UK has always been lagging behind from US and Canada when it comes to the adoption of subscription video streaming services like Netflix or Amazon Prime Video. However, according to a recent research carried out by RBC Capital Markets, Netflix has been seen taking grounds among UK’s free VOD Platform providers.
Among UK internet users surveyed in August 2016, 42% respondents said they watched movies and TV shows in preceding 12 months using Netflix, 62% on BBC iPlayer and 54% on YouTube. However, Netflix’s figures are up from 30% in August 2015 and 14% in August 2013.
