The US stock-car racing series, Nascar is mulling to launch its own over-the-top service. Launching its own streaming service will give Nascar an opportunity to tap into a wider audience base. Leading media rights holder NBC Sports and Fox Sports hold the right to air three of Nascar’s national series for an extended period of six years, till 2025.
With the option to live stream National series races off the table, Nascar is reportedly planning to make an online streaming service for lower-level forms of racing, as well as archived and other lifestyle content.
