In spite of the hype around connected TVs and the industry’s move towards connected devices, services and apps, recent research by IHS shows that European viewers have some “catching up” to do when watching Catch up TV.
In UK, overall TV viewing was just over 3 hours, however on average they spent 67 minutes watching some sort of non-traditional video from services like BBC iPlayer, Netflix and YouTube as well as DVR’ed TV from the likes of Sky+.
France, on the other hand had their TVs on for nearly 4 hours, however consumed only 22 minutes of online Video content – this is 67% less than their British counterparts
