Ampere Analysis research suggests that skinny pay-TV bundles offer more return than traditional US pay-TV packages. This makes the transition to the so called ‘virtual’ pay-TV super enticing for channels.

Channel distribution has become more complex than ever with pay-TV operators coming under pressure for carriage fees and rising availability of streaming pay-TV offers as well as skinny bundles from DirecTV Now, Hulu Live and Sling TV.

Streaming pay-TV package-level revenue per channel is 3 times more robust than for traditional offerings.i.e $0.59 in gross revenue for each channel carried in streaming packages vis-a-vis $0.23 per subscriber from traditional operators.
