According to a survey by the Peruvian telecom authority, Osiptel the penetration of smart TVs has tripled in Peru over the last two years. Over 93% of the households in the country have at least one TV, a good fraction of which are Smart TVs.
Accessibility of connected TVs has grown to 36.9% from 13.3% a couple of years ago.
The increasing availability of smart TVs is set to drive the growth of over-the-top consumption. This is in direct relation to the 40+ streaming platforms delivering video-on-demand (VOD) content in Peru, as well as the arrival of Roku in the region.
