Spotify’s Global User base reaches 200 million

Spotify reaches 200 million audio streaming users

The audio streaming behemoth, Spotify, has added 20 million new users in the last 6 months. This has led the number of global monthly active users to 200 million.

According to reports, Spotify had 180 million and 191 million users in the second and third quarter of 2018, respectively. Spotify is entertaining 78 countries around the globe with its 40 million tracks. The latest user statistics of this music streaming service has made it double the user base of its biggest rival.

Research has shown that 113 million people are using the free service of Spotify where 87 millions have subscribed to its premium plan.

Spotify’s Global Head of Communications, Dustee Jenkins has quoted, “We believe in being a profitable company, but first and foremost we have to grow and get to regions of the world that still don’t have Spotify. There are still parts of the United States where Spotify is not widely used.”
